You can view the event in honor of the 40th year of service of Father George at the below link. A quick reminder, the Metropolis of Karpathos & Kasos honored Father George for his 40th year of service in Arkasa. Father George first became a priest in 1970 from Bishop Apostolos. The priest of Arkasa had just passed away and the bishop approached him if he would like to get ordained. He accepted the bishop’s request and on September 8, 1970 he was ordained. The following day, he had to perform the service by himself, without any knowledge of how the service was to be done. He stayed up all night studying and when morning came, he went to the church, kneeled down at the altar and said, “Jesus, I don’t know what I’m doing, I will need your help in order to get through the service.” He did the service like he had 40 years experience.
